Baritone Saxophone, Flute, Piccolo, Chief Complainer

Sam is our baritone saxophonist, flutist, bass clarinetist, and our most talented complainer. With the band since 2015, Sam is one of Big Beat’s longest serving inmates. “I love the arrangements and have a lot of happy memories playing music with this group. That special bond helps us play music better,” he said in an 2022 interview. Outside of Big Beat, Sam is a music educator, composer, and author. He loves history, his cat, and the way the air smells just after it has rained.
