James Gibbs III

Trumpet player

​James Gibbs III Newark born, (Irvington New Jersey raised) Trumpeter studied Jazz at the former New Brunswick Jazz Institute of New Brunswick, and then later under the legendary Trumpeter, Composer, and Producer Donald Byrd at Delaware State University. He has been performing professionally since 1994 and has recorded on over 30 records, and four projects and counting as a band leader. James has also played alto saxophone on his recordings, Organ and Keys for two different churches and as a sideman for different bands. James is very known for touring and recording for several years for many celebrity artists and bands. He is also the founder of his band The Brick City Soul Collective.
